Local Attractions
Mulranny is a beautiful village, situated on the north shore of Clew Bay. It is the gateway to Achill Island, Ballycroy National Park and the Belmullet Peninsula. The following attractions make Mulranny an excellent place for a family holiday:
- Hill walking and Burrishoole loop walks, which are fully insured, offer different levels of challenging walks in the area
- Rock angling, sea angling and fishing off the pier can all be done in Mulranny. Boats are available to hire. A wide variety of fish have been caught in Clew Bay
- There are many sandy beaches in the area including the blue flag beach in Mulranny, where lifeguards are on duty during the summer months
- There are several historic sites in the area such as the Spanish Armada site, Grainne Uailes’ castles (Rockfleet and Clochmore), railway bridges and a machair situated on the edge of the village
- Sailing, surfing, scuba diving and wind surfing are popular sports in the area
